Personal Challenge: Captive Sims - ANY way to make them sleep???

I am doing a personal challenge to keep captive sims in my vampire's basement. I kind of want my Sims to have their own sims, and it's a social Sim experiment to see how captive Sims behave over time.

Anyway, I have some sweet digs made for them, with everything their Sim hearts might desire. For the most part they do use the computer, use certain items, mentor and buy from the barista, etc. The problem though is that they don't sleep, they don't use the bathroom or shower until their needs are almost depleted, and they keep complaining. Some of this is understandable, but I would like to fix as much of it as possible. More than anything I would like to have them sleep or replenish their energy needs, as they keep falling asleep all over the place.

Please do not suggest I use cheats or mods or move them into the household. I currently have about 17 captive sims so moving them in isn't really an option.

Right now they do go nap in tents and in the hot tub. But they never actually sleep. Party extender punch and coffee help only so much, but they still fall asleep on the floor all the time.

I would like any creative solutions, such as maybe changing type of lots to trap them in, if it will help, giving them things to eat or drink if it can be done easier that will do the trick. I tried having them test need fixer potions but that's too tedious. Is there anything I'm not thinking of to encourage sleep/energy restoration? Any better way I can make them go to the bathroom or shower faster and maybe not stand around in the bathroom so other sims can't use the restrooms? I did put male and female doors for a while and the bathroom used by community lots and they didn't help much. For the male and female doors, the wrong sex would get stuck in those bathrooms as somehow they would still go in, but then not come out.

Also, when I hire a barista, they come to work. But when I hire vendor for the food stall, nobody ever comes. It does take my money though. Any idea how to fix that??

I think they are confused as to where to sleep.

You can try two things

1 - Keep asking them to hang out - a sim that is supposed to be leaving a lot will not want to sleep.

ETA - try single beds instead of those double beds.

2 - Add as many of them into a clubs and keep the clubs going. You can start a new club meeting without ending the first one. sometimes I have three or four clubs going at once. It's so much fun. Make sleep one of the activities if you want but you don't have to since sims in club setting will sleep when they are tired.

Nice plot idea too. I kept one sim captured once but it was an evil plot to starve her to death for something she did that I cannot remember right now. Another time I was playing an insane, jealous, insecure sim who kept his girlfriend locked up in his bedroom. he kept her fed and entertained and she even slept, But then his dad found out what was going on and set her free.

Thanks, I've never done anything with clubs before. Interesting concept. I started a club and added five of the captives to it. I put things like cleaning, sleeping, and showering as club activities. Unfortunately as soon as I started a club gathering, one escaped. So I'm loading the game now from a save before I started the gathering, but I am worried about them escaping. Do you know if there is a way to keep them in the house, all the time, without them leaving? I didn't have allow club members on the door but apparently it's automatic to allow them?

You have to lock the doors for everyone except your household to keep them from escaping. And you can't ever leave the lot with your sims, or play another household because then everyone will escape

Yes, I guess the person might not have escaped but might have not been in the house when I added her and she was trying to attend. Therefore, she was outside and I thought she tried to escape. I think the door thing is worked out.

The problems now:

a) they are not changing into the outfits I made when I start a gathering, so I can't really tell who they are among the rest of the captives

b) I don't know how to make everyone in the club do something - I do something with the green thumb up like take a shower or clean, but only the leader does it

c) I'm not sure how to make everyone sleep as the leader is a vampire and can only sleep in coffin and the rest are human - I guess it might work with tents but again only my vampire leader slept while the others, I don't know where they were at, and

d) The gathering ends really soon after I start it - before I look down again it says "start gathering" again. It does not seem to last even two minutes.

Maybe they don't show up in a group because they all despise me. But it's annoying not being able to tell who is who and to ask them to do the same thing as a group. Oh well.

I just repaired my game like ten minutes ago.

I have that problem with the gathering ending right after I start it too! I think it's because one of the sims in the club has low needs, so they are trying to leave your lot and go home, but they can't leave because you captured them. And since you can't make the club members take care of their needs, I don't know how to fix it. It's the main problem in one of my games where I am trying to have sims that I captured be in a painting club.
Maybe because the club gathering keeps ending that would explain the rest of your problems with them not changing into outfits, and not doing the club activities. They would have to be in a current club gathering to do the activities.

Yeah that's too bad. I will need to decide... I guess if I can bring people over any time for a club gathering I might not need to keep them locked up. But I really did enjoy having the captives and it's too bad I can't figure out how to get their needs up. But then if I do let them go and do it the "right way" I will be able to play my other households again, and finally go places. It was fun while it lasted.

Come on @Sineea you can get it to work. The problem with the club ending soon after you start it has to do with the venue. Try changing the venue to somewhere other than your sim's home and then when you start the club choose the option to 'stay here'. Also try giving club members just two things to do.

I'd seperate showers from toilets.
Have you tried offering them better beds? The best beds may be more attractive than napping and using the tents.

Nice idea, maybe beds will help? My captive sims have seperate rooms.

I have an evil playthrough where I keep 3 sims locked in an underground basement. There is a social room with a toilet, shower and kitchen and 1 book. During the day i send them to the work room with woodworking tables and at night they get 2 hours of social. There is also a window to a reward room with a treadmill and bonsai tree to simulate outdoors :smile:
