Pet won't be treated at vet...

Hey Simmers, I haven't played Sims 4 in a long time because I've never really enjoyed it and always have issues while playing. I've had an urge to try and get back into it and I just booted it up, my Sims dog got sick and I took him to the vet and he won't receive treatment. They examine him and then the panel in the top left corner disappears and he isn't cured.

Might as well add this on as well, the clock is broken as all heck after it was fixed a while back. It fastforwards at weird speeds, sometimes on fastforwards it won't even move, sometimes it goes forwards 20min then jumps back an hour... I'm just sick of trying to get into this game and always being let down so please! Any help will be appreciated!

  • This has happened to me before - however, the event timer stayed and I had to cancel the event, go home with the pet, and reload the vet clinic. You could try that or buy a wellness treat from the vending machine at the clinic. OR treat him yourself at home with the examination table on your home lot. I've never actually tried treating a pet at home, but it might be viable. I've used a wellness treat on a sick pet when the vet was bugged, and the treat cured him, but gave him a perpetual uncomfortable mood. Switching to another household for a few days managed to clear it up.
I'm assuming you aren't getting a popup from the vet following the examination saying what sickness the dog has and which treatment you want?

    Hope this helps!
And yes, the clock is very broken and annoying.
  • @afai1261 I'll try the wellness treat. But I never get a diagnosis on what's wrong with my pet. It just disappears. I haven't tried going back because I was too annoyed at the thought of waiting through more loading screens...

Also I guess it's comforting to know it's not just my game that the clock is messed up. Comforting but also atrocious knowing it's never been fixed. It's only an integral part of the game...

If you have the exam table your sim can diagnose and treat their own pet at home and you can also make the treats and calming solutions with the vet crafting station.
  • I've noticed that for me it seems to be when the pet has an illness that makes them throw up/leave puddles everywhere that they don't finish the examination :/ Gone to wellness treats too. Makes them afraid for a bit but it's better than spending half the day in the vet clinic.
  • @kellza I went back to the vet and it worked but my Sims' dog was leaving puddles everywhere. How is it that I had to pay money for this and it's been out this long and it's broken..?
  • Been having the same problem - sometimes it works - sometimes it does not. I think what someone mentioned about puddles is part of what causes it to glitch - the puddles take their attention away. Just had one vet do the exam - stopped and mopped a puddle and then left the building - went home or something! I generally just cancel if it did not complete and then sign-up for an exam again. They often just stand around for a long time too - sometimes takes forever. I was using the wellness treats but they give that scared moodlet (another glitch that needs to be fixed).
Also true about the clock still being messed up even though it was supposed to be fixed- when the sims are sleeping and it is on the fastest speed - when it gets to around 3:30 am - it reverses some, and the speed changes too.
  • @AprilDawn -The clock in my game has been all over the place! Jumping forwards, backwards, slowing down, speeding up or sometimes just completely freezing.

    FYI your sim is hawt!
But I've never really had any issues with my vets in my game, sometimes the wait time to be seen but it gets there - if not I end up taking them to my clinic and just do it quickly. The wellness treat clears any illness up but the uncomfortable moodlet makes me sad
  • I had a dog that I took to the vet to get neutered. The game went so far as putting him into the machine, then he was on one of the vet's tables, but the visit never completed. I had to cancel and take the dog home. Then I took him to get a checkup and after my Sim waited an entire day, I gave up again. Another cancel and take home scenario. The vet's office in my game doesn't work at all, and the dog I made ended up being afraid of music (?!?!) coming from the stereos that my Sims are constantly playing, so I eventually gave up the dog. I'm not impressed with this pack at all.
