Pets' Deaths Really Made Me Cry...

Wow. I brought myself to watch this and ... wow. Not only did Grimmy not hug them, the Sims themselves didn't hug the cat or say proper goodbyes. That made all the crying seem disingenuous and massively un-simulated, mere cry animation and tears FX. Mega immersion breaker. And they lost their chance to give their final goodbyes. It bothers me.
Not the brightest pixels of the century.
The devs didn't even sync the colorful poof with the pet disappearance. What? It looked so cheap and they missed an opportunity to improve the visuals. Was there any chance that was caused by a lag??
I was probably never gonna let one of these pets die, but that irks me a lot.
Unless they know the pet will be there as a ghost and they can still hug the cat a lot again soon??? I recently played a ghost human for the first time and I was a little surprised how still-alive they seem. Weird. Death is definitely hugely different in Sims, so I sometimes feel like mild reactions make sense.
One other minor positive for me is that male voice sounded so sweet in his cry voice. Genuine and not afraid to show his soft side. At least that almost made the event a little "sweeter."
