Pets in other worlds

Hey, I have seen this posted before but I think I need some help. Do strays spawn in worlds other than Brindleton Bay?? I've seen people on here saying yes they do but it doesn't seem to happen in my game at all!? Is there some setting I'm meant to enable? please help!

  • This is one of the most disappointing parts of the pack for me, I really wish strays and dog owners walking their dogs would show up in other worlds. The devs said the reason was a design choice because they didn’t want the pets to intrude or interfere in places that the player may not want them, so they added lot traits for players to make such things optional, but in that case couldn’t they just make a lot trait to disable strays/walking dogs? It would still be optional but better implemented.

The only time I saw a pet in other worlds is when my Sim took their dog to an Oasis Springs park. I put down a bowl of food for him so I didn't have to worry if he became hungry.

Along came Justin Delgato walking his dog, Blue. Blue ate all the food and then they left. Later, I refilled the bowl only to have Justin and Blue show up again and yep, Blue ate it all again.

So I still wonder if it could have been because my Sim dog was there, or it was just the food, or the combination of both. I didn't try it again as my dog never did eat there.
  • Stray pets will only naturally spawn in Brindleton Bay and Selvadorada; unless you have a lot trait that allows stray cats or dogs to that lot, then they will spawn in that lot occasionally, but never in any other lots that aren't in those two worlds or without the lot traits. Two other traits that are Cat or Dog Friendly will spawn owned cats or dogs with their owners to visit the lot, however sometimes you won't even need the lot trait for a pet owner to show up to the lot with their pet; it will happen sometimes. Pet owners will never walk their dogs outside of Brindleton Bay, however.
  • Only time I see animals other than seagulls in the Bay is with a sim living there, then it's only a few cats. Take a sim from another neighborhood, and no animals. Have seen only 1 dog in the Bay, and that was right after the pack released. Once again the current team manages to gut a feature that works great in TS2. Am beginning to think they are deliberately trying to wreck the series so EA can dump it to concentrate on the real $ makers: sports and war.
