Pineapples - what are they for?

Kahlua Pork with pineapple, a dish prepared in the new BBQ cooking pit, seems to list pineapple as an ingredient and is cheaper to make if your sim has one in his/her inventory. I like how this harvestable looks in the game (both the plant and the fruit). But I agree that pineapple should be an ingredient in more dishes. I wish some of the new food stand dishes (like Poke Bowl and fish stew) were added to the fridge. I have to make do with pretending it is now part of the grilled fruit in the barbecue (it looks like it has pineapple in it after all). But it would also have been nice to have a few pineapple-specific recipes (like pineapple upside down cake, ham and pineapple pizza, pineapple shrimp, stir fry pineapple chicken, and pina coladas). Honestly, you’d think the game developers have never cooked with the fruit.
