Pirates appear on alien homeworld on Talk like a Pirate Day?

I sent my astronaut sim to the alien homeworld via her wormhole device and it just happened to be "Talk like a Pirate Day" and I noticed that instead of all the regular (irregular?) aliens with blue and green skin walking around there were just normal (?) pirate humans dressed in pirate clothes walking around. This must be a glitch or were these supposed to be space pirates?
