That night I went home and the next day when I went to the shop nothing. Stayed over again and flowers. Guess plants do their growing and producing overnight. Looks like I'll have to move my sim from her apartment to a residents so she'll have room to plant flowers.
Plants will only grow when your sim is on the lot or in the neighborhood surrounding the lot your sim is on. It's the same with wild plants, your sim has to be in the area for them to grow.
