I bought the base game late last spring. I'm not sure what I paid for it, but in a sense, that's the point. I'm sure I've enjoyed it enough to get my money's worth, even if I paid full price. I've also spent quite a bit on expansions, but again, the fun my daughter and I have had with TS4 has been worth it. I have absolutely no problem with people being able to enjoy the base game free.
