Play with Autonomy on or off?

Autonomy on. It helps me manage my full households. Occasionally, I will pause the game to set up actions for certain Sims, to make certain the kids do their homework, etc. And to be certain that those who attend the farm animals do so. My grown daughter was correct when she told me the Pause button was my friend. And it is. But, she also played with autonomy off. Then I learned that was why I never had the joy of seeing a bored Sim swing on the refrigerator door, or some of the other silliness that was part and parcel of Sims2. I learned to play with autonomy ON. :)

Lately I mostly play with autonomy off but in certain households, I might switch it back on. I like keeping autonomy off with toddlers so that I am not dealing with shenanigans related to the high chair or anything overly repetitive.

I always played the game by mainly queuing up actions for my sims rather than just watching them wander around themselves. It's not really a control freak thing. I just like to direct the play and I often develop my own characters. Actually, I don't think it is a good thing to judge people for whether or not they want a game setting turned off or on. Directing play or being creative doesn't mean that someone is a control freak. It's the difference between labeling someone assertive or bossy, managerial or a control freak. There's nothing wrong with playing another way such as preferring to let sims wander around autonomously. We wouldn't insult those players either.

On. I like the unexpected. I even enable stuff on MCCC like autonomous Try for Baby. I like when they do the unexpected. Spices up the game. I also play with super large households, typically, and don't have time to micromanage everyone all the time.

Off Even with it turned off and a boatload of autonomy mods, my Sims don't always finish tasks, or even try to do what I asked them to do. I've tried playing with it turned on but everything just falls into total chaos, and I'm not always in the mood to clean up it all up once the dust settles.

I keep it on for everyone. I balance between micromanaging my sims and letting them do what they want. I mean, I often cancel their own ideas and give them orders, because I have some story in my mind and things I want them to do, but sometimes I let them do what they want. It can be annoying and it can be fun. It gives a chance for new ideas and unexpected stories.

I play with autonomy off. All the stupid things (our smart) Sims do when you let them just makes me angry...

Autonomy OFF, with a little help from me :)

Find myself enjoying the 'fish bowl' I created. So cute when they randomly look out the window or get focused/creative viewing decor without my motivation. Keeps their Fun up too when they're home from work or class.

Annoying, is not having them perform tasks that I've queued up. And the lineup vanishes. 5 things to do & it's gone while they're finishing the 1st task. Not sure if it's an Autonomy issue or bug/glitch. So I only queue up a couple things, stalking them to make sure it's done.

The little help I give: Autosolve Bladder AND micromanage Hunger or they'll live off popcorn, Hygiene or they'll be all day in a bubble bath, Energy or they'll drink coffee instead taking a nap

Off, & I’m surprised to see that so many people play with it on, lol. I like to have full control. :D

The game is dull enough with autonomy on. I would die of boredom with it off.
