I'm not following any rules or challenges and I don't have the starter "farmer" in my game. I've just taken all the characters and remade them so they work in the Sims world as I see them fitting in. Some of their hobbies have changed or even lifestyles because they are different games. For instance Clint can't be a blacksmith in this game so instead I have him being a collector and handyman. He's still going to pine for Emily though..
I played it with Seasons for a few days but the multiplying plant bug scared me so I went to a new different save for awhile. I found out yesterday that that bug was patched so I'm back in.
I'm playing in Winter and kind of jumping around and changing their seasonal clothes and playing them for a little while each. As for immersion so far it's wonderful. In my game it's Winter and this morning I was playing on Elliott for awhile. I had to put a fireplace in his little cabin to save him money in the long run and basically he's just appreciating the beauty around him... or I am. It'll funnel well into his writing later.. Here's two shots with him from today enjoying Winter..
...and one of the Traveling Merchant I've named her Gypsy Caravan.. yeah I know, not too original. She's not going to travel in my game exactly I plan on having her collect, make and resell her goods via thesales table and maybe sing for tips.
I think I'll rename the holidays today. I was really enjoying the gnomes in the last save game so since we don't have dwarves in this game I guess they will do ;).
