Playing on Unlimited

Does anyone else play on this setting? There is a warning popup when you switch, so I have some anxiety, although nothing has happened in my game yet. Is it harmful to the game? What do you think? Not worth the risk?

I play on rotation and I just like to favourite all the Sims so that they don't get culled before I can play them, because I've heard the Sims will disappear from the game after a while if you don't play them.

  • I used he limits for a long time, but then had to switch to unlimited because I was pushing the limit and afraid to lose my families. So, for a few years now, I've been playing 400+ sims on rotation. My computer is low-end but I think size of active household and content on active lot makes a bigger performance difference than unlimited number of sims. I'll report back when I reach 1000 sims, lol.

What specs do you have and do you play w cc or mods? I’d like to have this many sims personally but I’ve noticed mine start getting cut in half (half their bodies are missing) at around 300 mark.

  • I play on unlimited on a very low end laptop and I don't have any problems.

  • The overall number of sims is less important than the number of sims in a zone, how full your inventories are and how cluttered your lots are.

I ran into issues with all those things (at one time I had thirty sims in my household, then an alien abduction happened and the game said, nope, that was too much, my friend). But simply having a high sim count never caused issues.
