Playing while avoiding the ageing bug is very anxiety inducing

So after a few Simless days (ever since the patch introduced this "ageing in CAS" bug) I decided to throw caution to the wind and just play my game, and avoid going into CAS. Even though I don't need ...

I'm curious, I went ahead and broke down and bought the expansion before I was going to do so (because I am weak) so I can't check myself... When going into CAS, can you purposely age your sims down an age so that when they leave CAS they are the correct age? Its not a fix by any means but would be a heck of a lot less frustrating.
