Please, Consider Non Mandatory Content Updates

Just as suggestion. Many of us have enjoyed free content updates. However, many would prefer these to never be mandatory. Is there some sort o agreement that all free content must be installed into everyone's game. It's not that people don't appreciate free stuff, who wouldn't! But this all starts to become bloatware. Do you remember the days when you would buy a pc off the shelf and it would be full of bloatware?

This game is growning and growing. And true it's not a big problem for most who have 1TB of storage etc. these days. But what is never considered I don't think is the game's bloat. If this game goes on another three years then there will surely be more and more objects and or CAS items many may not want. I know in older games I would beg for a filter to hide those OFB head gear and outfits (which was a great idea) for costumes after I had played that pack forever.

It's the problem of flipping and flipping through content I'm never going to use. Or content that wouldn't help how I play at all. It's not that anyone doesn't appreciate the stuff but at some point after years we like a cleaner, leaner game, where we don't have to keep hair, costumes, objects, clothes we aren't ever going to use. And there is a lot that comes in free content that I would rather not install.

You know it's like that old saying if you haven't worn it in the last year, then time to clean out the closet and give it away or sell it. If I haven't touched it in several years then can't we stop getting the free stuff mandatory?

Thanks for reading. I would prefer to pick and choose what free content I would like to have. Like maybe, over on TS3 store, lots of stuff was free, and we picked the stuff we wanted.

Thank you.

  • Personally I think there should be toggles to select parts of expansion to load when you are installing the game from origin

    example:

    Download CAS Items
    Download BUILD Items
    Download BUY Items
    Download Game Play Items
    Download All

You could then select the ones you want to include and it be exactly that simple way to have less things installed
also in case of free updates they could just make it a free pack like ''updates'' and you could toggle that then

still kind of vague tho but at the same time I don't want to go back to ts3 store thing because it was most of the time ridiculously priced and complex
  • @Simmingal, I understand the complaints about the TS3 store, I was one who thought it was outragous pricing. But their free monthly content came in packs we dowloaded, etc. like Jan. Feb. etc. and players never had to install the free stuff.

This is why I use the filters. A lot.

The problem is when I'm looking through the clothing a lot of time I don't know what I'm looking for. I'm just browsing through outfits looking for something that looks nice. I wish that I could delete all the stuff that I know I would never use that is less to go through

Most of the clothes in the city pack I don't like and would love to delete.
  • I don't think many of us play Vanilla anymore and the option to choose would be prefered over having to take it.
