It never used to be this bad, did it? Maybe they're retuned it. Wish they'd tune it back.
@loubyloulou picture resume all! you only need to replace the gym with other lot type and show example of the idle chat. Yes, we have this feature since day one, it was great with the multitasking feature that mades Sims 4 unique... but now the idle chat is out of control, it needs an adjustment, I hope we can see this in a future patch!
