Positive Kit Pack Reaction Thread

Hi all,

I didn't think I saw a thread like this yet! I wanted to create a positive kit pack reaction thread where you can post your thoughts, game pictures and so forth.

My thoughts:

I've been playing around with the Bust the Dust kit and it's actually really interesting. Trying to build up a relationship with a dust bunny

The athletic casual type wear is actually really cute in CAS--the hat I can use outside of athletics which is great. The dress they made is really nice.

The country kitchen set is a hit for me! I actually updated my favorite house's kitchen with it (I combined this set with the parenthood one).

How about you?

I bought the kitchen kit. It has some nice items, especially since I much prefer country kitchens to modern ones.

If I'm building something that I want to upload to the gallery, I always ensure that I use NO CC's. And it's always in the kitchen that I feel this restriction the most. As such, I'm happy enough with the kit.

Anyway I've only built two kitchens so far with the kit, and I haven't done a really sizeable or "involved" one yet. I certainly will do soon enough, though. :)

Nice! I actually like the look of the "country kitchen" stuff also. B)

The dirt mod looks fun but possibly irritating to me, however, maybe fun with dust turning into creatures that give you money then burns your house down. :D

The 1980's "Throwback" looks like a decent collection of new clothing. Well, technically 30 to 40 years ago in real life, but hey! This is Sims and it's immortal and new in-game now! ;)

Interesting that the crop-top is the main theme. I'm old enough to remember that. :o

So, what I understood from reading this and few other threads you need to gift the vacuum cleaner to the butler for him to be able to use it, but maids have their own vacuums, right?
I haven't played any households that have a butler or a maid working for them yet, I just want to make sure they will use the vacuum.
  • I am so glad I visited this thread. I purchased all three kits bu haven't had a chance to play with the new items yet because I am revamping my main save. However, the one fantastic thing I like about the kits is that they are totally optional. You don't need them to add a new world or a new career or anything like that. People can continue with their gameplay perfectly fine without purchasing a kit. It's an ala carte method of adding content and I just love it. It's a great idea!

That Kitchen is wonderful and homey @ashcrash19 WOW <3 and the fire thing is hilarious. I am looking forward most to having a really messy house in my game once I start actually playing again :D

The vacuum has to be in a sims inventory to be used autonomously. So I think they coded it into maids inventory since they don’t live in the household and often sims aren’t home when they arrive so by already having it in inventory they can use it autonomously. But since butlers are in your household all the time you have ample opportunity to add it to their inventory through gifting it to them, in fact it’s the only way since you can’t access their personal inventory otherwise.

This is also how you prevent sims from autonomously cleaning at community lots or to prevent neat sims from obsessively cleaning over all else. Live drag the vacuum out of their inventory. They can’t use it autonomously if it not in their “pocket”. :)
  • Who knew I'd enjoy my sims vacuuming so much? I love the dust kit. I was playing in my mansion with my wealthiest family. The butler finally has an actual job to do and I love it! It was also really cool to see their home get more lived in as the days went on.

One of the other families I'm playing seem to naturally be neat freaks. They keep cleaning until the floors are pristine. The other family didn't do that. ?
  • Cool to see everyone's in-game pics of the pack stuff! I bought the clothing kit and the clothes look great. I'm still unsure on the Country Kitchen set or Bust the Dust; The kitchen set is really cosy-looking and the vacuums are a cool idea, but I'm not sure how much I'd use them...although looking at these pics and everyone's descriptions on this thread, the vacuum kit is tempting :)

I haven't tried with a butler but the maid turned up and vacuumed the garden without me gifting them one. Yes you read that correctly...

Great, thanks. Seems like I have to hire some maids now. :)
  • I very much like the idea of kits as a more a la carte way to get content for the Sims. I do think they're overpriced at the moment, but I think they have tons of potential.
  • I hoovered up my first bunny today. It made such a sad little noise that I immediately felt really guilty!

    Poor ickle bunny ???
