Positive Thoughts Thread: L&D EP 👻

Ok ok... Interesting... The trailer seems big, let's hope the pack ends big too.

I'm looking forward to more info then. I have made the first recap on the pack here.

Oh, and I'm happy that with this expansion pack I don't have to go through all my about 1,000 sims to add something in CAS. Adding Turn-ons and Turn-offs was painful enough, and I haven't touched the sims in my other saves too...

Could be raven by the colouring, but it's a bit small. Ravens are the size of chickens. 🙂

I'm not super into the Reaper career as yet, but if it means I can make a specific sim the Grim Reaper without having to go through a bunch of modding, I'm down. It sounds like the crypts will be rabbitholes (disappear into), but hopefully that doesn't mean that the graveyards will be landscape elements. They show three different ones, and I'd like to build some in other worlds. 

If they work, I like the idea of funerals and reincarnation. The Wednesday dance is a nice touch. More for ghosts to do is welcome, but more for anyone to do is welcome.

I am a little curious about changing your ghost's appearance in CAS. Like, I've seen a couple of people say, "Oh, we can play as ghosts now!" and ... you could already? Sure, you had to wait for a ghost to spawn, befriend it, and ask it to join your household, but I've had ghost family members before. So I'm guessing changing appearance in CAS must mean there's some ghost-specific CAS elements to make them seem extra spooky or something.

Also, my hopes that there would be some sort of zombie in this pack seem like they might be dashed, but it did look like there was a zombie gnome in one shot, so maybe maybe that's just an element they didn't highlight in this trailer. Like you could get a zombie in TS2 by not paying enough to bring back a loved one with the Grim Reaper phone, maybe you can get a zombie as a botched attempt to bring someone back. (Still, I'm making a save that has both the Addams Family and the Munsters in it, and some sort of slow, clumsy undead would have been perfect for Lurch, the Addams butler, and Herman Munster. So, shoot.)

I'm so in love with the world already. I know where I'm going to be spending out the rest of my days. 😛

I can't help but notice a very strong Wednesday Addams influence in this, which pleases me deeply. The build/buy...I mean, I never thought I'd love one more than the Vampires pack, but this...this is perfection. The range from simple to elaborate is all incredible and wonderfully detailed. The wall art pieces are so amazing, I can't wait to have them! And the grandfather clock, the new fireplace, the tattered roofs and windows...all wonderful! And the tombs and graves! My heart can rest in peace. 

The CAS I had to study a couple of times because at first I thought I'd just like a few pieces, but I'm noticing some good, classic, gothy styles in there, so I'm happy with that. I do think the men's styles could use to look less frumpy, though. I never use the tops that bell out at the waist, they're just look bad on the Sim's frame. I don't use that many short hair styles, but a couple of the new ones are cute. Really love the new child's hair, it will look incredible on my young Werewolves!

The gameplay looks kind of extensive, which is promising. I'm trying to reel in my excitement because I know there's going to be rabbit holes and some disappointments, and things that are exclusive to that world. And it's too bad that there are no Zombies for bad resurrections. But Ghosts seem like they are getting the upgrade we wanted, though it did not imply that we can create one in CAS from the beginning, I think we have to have a Sim become one and then be able to play them, as it is now. But I'll hold off on that until I know more.

Right now my main hope is that there are a sufficient amount of lots for me to use so I can move a bunch of Sims there. I can immediately picture a link to Forgotten Hollow, and possibly even Tartosa, if I put the right builds there. Of course, Moonwood is on the other side somewhere as well. 

On that note, I really wish we'd get a lot trait that attracts all of the Occults like the one lot in Moonwood. I use that one lot all the time because I love seeing who shows up. If we could just get that, plus a toggle to turn off autonomous phone use for all Sims so I don't have to panic with every patch that I'll lose that mod, I will play this game forever. Oh, and while I'm wishing, I might as well throw in my deep need for a world editing tool.

I can’t believe I thought there wouldn’t be enough to fill an EP for this, but they’ve really shocked me with this one! I didn’t think I’d be purchasing this at all, but I’m pleasantly surprised.

As a realism kinda player, I thought a supernatural/occult kinda pack with ghosts and a reaper career wouldn’t appeal to me, but there’s plenty here for all types of players (funerals, wills, cemeteries are all perfect for more realism-based legacy plays)! I’m oddly excited and can’t wait for the Bucket List feature - I love that! Plus there’s a whole lot of cross-pack compatibility. I’m very impressed and can’t wait for more info 

Same. I won't kill any of my current Sims or rebirth them because I care too much about all of them, and neither is gloomy enough for this pack so like you, I'll make a new household that gets to experience all the new features. I think the pack will also mix well with the occults we already have, and with the crystal creations. And how cool is it that we get a graveyard and funerals? 😃

Ok. They really had me at "Undertaker". Who doesn't want a gravedigger in their game?! I've already got one, but now he can finally start digging. No more happy nappin' in my fake graveyards Thaddeus Spade! Time to get them hands dirty, there's work to be done! I’ll make sure my murder of crows keep their needy beady eyes fixed on you, Thaddeus, there’s plenty of room for you too!  IN THE CRYPT!!

I'll tell you this much, I got a wee lump in my throat from watching that trailer. I wept within, so I did.   

Aye…It's deep - death- bit of a heavy concept for us mortals I’m afraid. To be able to have a little fun with it does help.  May Gloomy be the new Happy! 👻

I won't ask too many questions yet. Still processing. I’m excited about so many things in this pack. I voted for Happy Haunts back in the day and I believe this is it, PART II (Paranormal being PART I), but possibly better, because we wanted bigger. Bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better, but this looks very promising all the same! There's damaged Roof tiles ‘n’ broken windows!  Pet Raven/ Raven Oracle?!Tarot Reading! Skull fireplace! Gothic BB and really nice CAS! Grandfather Clock (I hope it chimes)!! Funerals & Testaments. (I confess, the funerals seem eerily realistic) Will this be it for me? Will this be the end of playing with “aging off”?? I fear for my sims. Or should I say grief?

More Urn designs?! Cannons! Graveyards,Mausoleums and Gorgeous Gravestones! Hallowed Grounds! Medieval Floor Torches!! Creepy Tree, Portal to the Netherworld!! (Can we GO there mummy can we?! ) Phantom Cow Plant. Well of Longing and Regret/Bucket list?! A “Goth Girl” dance! Soul Reaper career! Thanatology??(sheesh that’s very deep).
Expanded Ghosts?! Can we create them as occults in CAS now?! Also…Another Paranormal Bubble Ghosts type! (But why?!😂 ) Did I mention Undertaker??

No Horse Drawn and/ or ’73 Cadillac Hearse no?! That’s alright for now. I’ve got my hands full already.

Fun fact: When I was a student I got a rather fascinating job at a "Try Before You Die Casket Sale". 
It's the truth!  I won't tell what I did there but it says a lot about me and I got paid.  😆

Hmmm... I don't quite know how I feel about it. There is a huge amount that does appeal to me, but some things do not.

As a side note, why oh why must they keep doing the 'buy before this date' incentives? And why do they always include one or two great things along with something really naff (I'm looking at you, mask!)? But I definitely want the portrait and the music box - they look great.
