For me, preserving the culture of the worlds is important. I don't want every world to be the same, and I think keeping the culture makes the world feel more diverse. I tend to micromanage a lot, so I'm very hands on when it comes to who moves where. With my MCCC settings, Sims will never move out unless they marry, and even then, I'll make the final call where they live. For example, if a Sim from Sulani marries a Sim from Willow Creek, I'll move the Willow Creek Sim to Sulani and give them a makeover to fit their new home.
It's important to me but since I micromanage like crazy, I don't worry about losing each world's identity.
