Problem about my Sims being very good friends to acquaintances

My Sim used to be very good friends with Don Lothario. But now my Sim has a wife with three kids so they didn't talk or hang out for quite a while. And now he's suddenly acquaintances with Don Lothario and they should introduce to each other again as if they've never met. I understand if their relationship bar will go lower without talking for a long time, hope there should be a sentiment like "drifting away" or something instead. But they should not be back to acquaintances like they've never known each other.
