Problem about my Sims being very good friends to acquaintances

This could be a result of relationship culling. sometimes the game will delete relationships to improve performance. I hate that feature. I had to reintroduce sims to each other as well. My sim had met a possible future wife and I wanted them to start dating a few sim days later but he had completely forgotten his love interest. :(
