PS5 player bought The Sims 4 Base Game on PC - first impressions
The most of people I see on YouTube or Twitter are PC players which tried to play on console a couple of time and thats all. Due to fact that The Sims on Origin was really cheap I decided to buy the game to compare it with PS5 where I have the most of packs because I started my journey for serious 2 years ago on PS4 (those times).
First of all my impressions of the base game only:
1. There is not so much space to develop. In general I miss more lots with the packs, but the base game is totally empty. There is 21 empty lots in total where you can build 12 lot types.
2. Every neighbourhood is very similar. There is not so much things to do with your sims. You can do the same things everywhere. Due to that the game can be boring for a lot of players. The world is not interactive. We have only 3 suburbian worlds and that's all.
3. CAS has just a little of options even with reimplemented content from the packs. Especially for male sims. And sorry, but converted female hairstyles don't help here.
4. BB has the same issue as CAS, but there is more options and the possibility to use MOO cheat. In my opinion, BB dramatically requires more swatches, wallpapers and flooring options.
5. Gameplay - i think there is nothing to add. Our sims can only visit bars, pools, live and go to work and interact with small, closed neighbourhoods. To compare in TS1 base game, we had also not so much options but a lot of interactions were risky and it was hard to fulfill our sims needs.
Some impressions from PS5 player point of view:
1. I was thinking that the camera on PC is easier to use, but not. I feel that it is easier to use the camera on console.
2. PC players has one more screen in the Gallery: "News" which is not available on console and it is weird. We cannot also see players avatars on console. But it's just visual issue.
3. On console loading bars still exist which is useless for me, because loading screens on PS5 are short.
4. PC version has more options to customise visual/screen settings. I think that some of them can be also added for consoles.
5. On console we can not download creations with CC which is weird, because sometimes we just want to use the shape of sim or house. I think that this filter can be also available on console.
6. Probably the difference which surprised me the most. PC version of the sims is more bugged. There is easier to have glitches, bugs and freezing.
I will share with you more if I find anything interesting.
