Put a child up for adoption to be re-adopted??

So basically i want to have a child born into one family (got that bit lol), then idk the parents die or something idk how but one way or another the child is put up for adoption or taken away, but can be re-adopted by another family, and have the relations with the new family to be step-mum or step-dad. Not sure if this is possible but i just want to do this for one of my sim families. Thanks for anyone who can help at all

ah thats annoying, maybe itll be different in ts5 whenever they bring that out or an adoption expansion pack or something lol xx
  • Use MC Command Center, there is a setting in which you can enable adopting neglected children, toddlers, etc.

If all caregivers in the household die, the child/toddler gets adopted by a random family even if the "adopt neglected child" setting isn't enabled. I'm not sure if that's a different setting or it's part of the vanilla game, but that's what happened in a household in my game.
  • Back in the earlier days of sims 4 my game had a habit of creating hidden, homeless teens whenever I played the detective career, (the game did not allow teen only households back then), the first 2 times that happened, I felt so sorry for them that I had my main family (a gay couple that adopted all their children) take them into their household as foster children. This happened in game over a period of sim years.

Since then, I have added foster children and teens to my games on occasion, with the addition of Parenthood and the adopt as care dependant option it's easier to set up a foster family dynamic.

I had relatives that were foster parents growing up and my younger sister adopted her 3 children out of foster care as well. So, I suppose that is why I like to have this family dynamic in my games.
