My 8th grade class was very small. All of fourteen girls, small.
Sounds a lot like my school. 7th and 8th grade were in one classroom together with one teacher. I think each grade had about 10 to 12 students in it.
Not quite. We had two tracks, instead of three. In 7th grade I was in 7-B. In 8th grade I was in 8-1. My math teacher, Mr. Spellmeyer (rest his soul) asked in the first week if any of us thought we were in the wrong level. I was far too embarrassed to raise my hand. Turns out that was a good thing. I did belong there, I just didn't realize it. (Always thought I was not all that intelligent.) I have always equated my ability to grasp the math he taught us, to his ability to convey it to his students. Very rarely when he was finished explaining things and asked if there were any questions, did someone raise their hand. That's how good he was. We had quite a few boys in 8th grade, so the classes were full. We just had so few girls it was almost a joke.
