Q about resurrecting ghosts

Do they resurrect fully straight away?
Can they autonomously turn back into ghosts?

I used the ambrosia and she was hovering when she turned into a human. After CASing her as newly human she was back in a ghst form.
  • Once they have been transformed to living form again by eating ambrosia they shouldn't act or appear like ghosts at all any more. I haven't done this since probably before JA was released though... to me it sounds like you area experiencing some sort of bug.

If the ghost is resurrected, they should stay alive.
Was that ghost generated as a ghost?
  • Hm. But what's the cheatcode to resurrect the ghost? I'll try it this way cause I can't be bothered to fish for the angelfish again. I'll see what could cause it in my game. It's just I've resurrected a ghost before and it worked.
@EgonVM nope, she was my legacy sim's ghost generations ago. She was a townie first.

i've seen people mentioning issues with bringing ghosts back with ambrosia since the seasons patch (may or may not be cc/mod related. no replies about that). and just yesterday i saw a potential result of such in a simsupply video where the ghost he fed ambrosia to didn't change right away (they're supposed to, right after they do that spin move) but crawled under the covers to cry about being sad and came back out 'normal'...except he still floated around like a ghost

keep meaning to go test ambrosia (and the wishing well) out myself, but things haven't been leaving me with much time to sim lately.

also, kind of randomly, but my household that can cook the ambrosia has... well, a lot of aquariums (they display one of every collectible) but they've got one aquarium in the kitchen that holds nothing but angelfish, just in case they need to make more ambrosia (they have a plate that they can clone as needed, and two more sold in their retail shop for other sims that need it)

it is exactly as you described it in the first part. The last time I resurrected the sim was waaaayy before seasons and it happened instantly with no delay or problems.
Where do you keep the plate so it doesn't get eaten or cleaned up?

haven't tried it, but you might be able to do so with the 'remove trait' cheat. just have to know exactly what killed the ghost and what the death type trait for it is called

two examples of death traits on one sim (i use a mod that lets you see hidden info like this):

hm. it was from old age? Do I put it down as one word or use the little line?

that i'm not so sure about. i play with aging off, so none of my ghosts are old age ghosts and, the two that died of old age when i was earning the 'circle of life' achievement ages ago were culled...

so, i actually went and downloaded an old age ghost to check, here we go:

and i tested it out, sure enough, using the remove trait cheat with that will indeed make the sim alive again. just be warned, that if you have aging turned on, they might die again soon afterwards

    Thanks I'll try it out.
