What is visit and animal shelter date? we never had that option before. do we have to build an animal shelter or is it like the hospital pre made in game somewhere?
I never mentioned an Animal Shelter date? I mentioned a Dog Park date.
There's a premade Dog Park in Brindleton Bay. It's just a Park, technically, but it has dog agility objects and Dog Hangount/Dog Friendly lot traits to aim it at dogs.
There's a Cat Bar (and Cat Cafés on the Gallery) in Brindleton Bay too.
There's also a premade Horse Park in Chestnut Ridge, again just zoned as a Park, but with horse obstacles and stalls etc.
If you want functional Animal Shelters I'd suggest a mod by ChippedSim.

the third to last activity, animal- once hovered over it says visit to animal shelter and you need cats and dogs
Animals are mentioned in the tooltip. Animal Shelters are not. The YouTuber might have talked about Animal Shelters, but that's a mod feature, not in the game.
Here are all the activities that require additional packs and their tool tips:(note - Sing doesn't say it requires other packs, but there are no singing interactions in BG & LS combined other than serenading sims or singing nursery rhymes with infants/toddlers (I forget). You can sing with a guitar at campfires with OR, sing holiday songs with S and sing many ways with CL)
