- FatTribble23New ScoutI believe you have to play through the whole storyline in Strangerville and defeat the Mother to have it behave like other worlds. Which I why I never play in Strangerville LOL.

I don't blame you because it is very annoying when you are trying to get your sims to do something- cyncieSeasoned Veteran

Strangerville is one of the few packs that has a quest based play through. The residents are infected by spores from an alien plant. To return the town to normal, you have to create a cure and defeat the mother plant. - CAPTAIN_NXR7Seasoned Veteran

This is correct.
I know some folks find following the SV storyline to be repetitive but once you incorporate the story into your own it’s a lot
more enjoyable. Take yer time, take yer time. At least I find that to be true as I happily fabricated an entire other narrative around this pack. SV is one of my favorites now, because darn it, Jungle Adventures & the military career.
If that doesn’t interest you then sure, move the ?H ? out of that possessed desert, for without it it is nothing but a place full of strange, whispering plants and sims behaving utterly wierd. - crocobauraSeasoned AceI played for quite a while in Strangerville without any issues. I think you just need to avoid eating the spore plants and talking to the possessed sims.
- RySBISeasoned NewcomerThough I recommend playing the storyline by completing the Strangerville aspiration, if you don’t want to you can also use cheats to stop being possessed.
To do this, open the cheat bar and use bb.testingcheats true
Then you can cure an individual sim of being infected with: Traits.Remove_Trait Infected - OldeSimsFanNew TravelerWere you attempting to play one of the locals or an outsider living there? I've played an outsider and have not gotten possessed. The only ways I know of are eating a strange fruit or going down the purple corridor without protection after unlocking that door.
- SimmervilleSeasoned AceHm, I've played quite a lot in StrangerVille, but never focused on solving the story. One sim of my household is infected, but he will only be "out of reach" during sleeping hours, and when he return he is all in the green. If he was not infected he would probably be sleeping anyway. I can't remember having either active sim behaving infected during the day hours. There are infected NPCs in day time though.
- FatTribble23New ScoutUnfortunately my best advice is to move them out of Strangerville. At least the Strangerville "plague" doesn't spread to other worlds. Or of course you could solve the Strangerville mystery.
