Question about Cat tree

For the large cat tree, have you ever noticed your cat do the following: Use the very top platform? I've only seem them use the first platform. Sleep in cat hammock on the bottom? I've never seen this. Sleep or play in the cubby box? Nope never seen it.

  • I have seen them sleep on the sheet in the bottom before, but never seen them sleep in the cubby box so i thought it was just deco and cant be interacted with.
  • Yeah that could be. That's what I'm trying to figure out. What about the very top platform?
  • I grabbed a bunch of cats from the gallery and had them all use the cat tree with the selectable pets mod. They kept running off while I was controlling the other cats so I couldn't get a screenshot showing cats on every level at once... But I was able to test every slot (highest level, second-highest level, cube, bottom level, and the hammock. It seems the whole tree does function.

edit to add screenshots using the big tree (not the separate medium tree off to the side):

  • Thanks so much. I wonder why my cat never uses some of it? I mean I guess it's pretty typical of a cat. :D :D
  • I bought this really nice tree when I first got the cat I have now. He totally ignored it. Actually he sort of acted like he hated it. I ended up giving it to my roommate who had a cat that used it. ??
  • aw that sucks :( Cats can be so weird and picky.

I'm thinking with the cat tree in-game, if there aren't multiple cats using it at the same time then they will likely always go for the same spot.
  • I always thought it was ceiling height so I rested it. Low ceilings without the pet mod did not work for the top one. The cat never went up there. The same cat went on the top one with medium walls without the pet mod.

All the mod does is let you control them. It's not adding anything new. The house I tested with had the shortest walls. I suspect cats still have the option of jumping up there with or without it (despite short walls).
  • I have no pet mods and my cats use all of the tree. They sleep on top platform and cubby. No issues.
