Is it just me or is Sims 4 not random enough?I mean, compared to Sims 2 and 3, the world is so boring! There is literally nothing going on!They are no fires, no robbers, no random events, no story progression, nothing!It feels like it's centered around my Sim! Whenever I go to for example a Library, there is only me and after an hour there is tons of people!Why weren't there people before? Why when I joined everybody joined too?It all feels so unnatural and boring. I just want random, weird things happening, without me forcing them to happen.

There's suppose to be sims already at community lots when you arrive there. It was like that before, but it might be bugged. I have noticed that when my sims go to some community lot now they are always empty until my sim gets there and it's not meant to be like that.As for randomness a lot of people complained about it that's why there's none now. You only get alien abductions if you are in the science career, or use the satellite dish that you craft in the science career, otherwise the chance of getting abducted and pregnant (if your sim is a a male) is like 0,009% or something.I do wish there were burglars and policemen in the BG. A lot of people have been asking for them.

With 2 and 3 it felt like there was an element of chance, there's was always a feeling that something unexpected would happen (such as a robbery or opportunity) and I don't get the same feeling with 4. Things do tend to become repetitive fast. The chance cards in 4 are boring too. You either get little gains or little hits to performance. In 2, you could get huge cash bonuses, promotions, skill points and more from chance cards. On the other hand you could also get demoted, lose skill points, lose a day's pay or even get fired. There was always the option to just ignore them too if you didn't want the risk.I think story progression is a big thing for a lot of people and Maxis really should have put a lot more thought into it. Everything feels much less lively without it implemented fully.

I agree completely.There's barely any randomness, or consequences, or anything bad in general. It's all happiness, sunshine and rainbows. Which makes it feel bland and wishy-washy.I miss all the things that caused that in the previous games tremendously. Story progression, robbers, memories and so on. Even when something do happen in TS4 (Which is usually done by the player), then it barely does anything! Lost your spouse? Get a sad moodlet for a day or so, which easily gets overpowered by lots and lots of other moods and then it's forgotten. This is compared to the previous games when they acted heartbroken for longer and suddenly remembered this and started to cry. A sim caught their partner cheating/being romantic with someone else? Here comes the moodlet...sometimes. While, yet again, in the previous ones they got upset and slappy while shouting.

I don't mind adding consequences, but I hate randomness. I don't want to have to be constantly fighting against the game to get things to turn out the way I'd like

I think TS2 was the best for randomness. I can look back with amusement over some of the events that would suddenly happen. Though, when a meteorite dropped on Laura Ingall's head in TS3 that was pretty random too :D Lack of chance, and lack of difference in personalities, makes TS4 a bit wishy washy certainly.

My Sim who has no connection whatsoever to aliens just got abducted last night, right in the middle of caring for three cranky toddlers. Aliens can be so rude. :)

I just want some small random things happening, like idk, RANDOM TOWNIES TALK TO EACHOTHER, townies marrying, throwing parties, dying and such, it's as everybody said, Wishy Washy.
