Re: EA Sims 4 Discount Email

I just wanted to provide an update. I reached back out to EA Help via chat and the agent I got this time actually took my screenshot of the email ( the last rep never asked for it even when I said I could provide it) and told me that it was spam and not actually from EA. I let him know that it was, and that I had another email screenshot showing that it was sent to me from EA. He then still tried to dismiss me saying there's no promotional offer going on right now so he would have to go by the EA T&C, and basically not help me. Again, I told him this is from EA and there is a news article on EA's website confirming the discount. He said he was on EA's official site and there was no discount. I then sent him the link to the article that came directly from the email I was sent, After about 5 minutes he finally came back and said they will refund me the 20% discount. This was literally the WORST experience I've ever had with EA and I have been playing the Sims for years. Please keep fighting for that discount if you bought it and it wasn't applied! They really tried to say I was lying and that it was spam because they didn't want to honor the discount.

    @bncanty please let me know if that refund posts. I have gone through four reps now and was told I could get a refund, but then that the refund was 'not possible'. If you actually get a refund I'll try again. I even only purchased because the rep told me to buy it and they would refund the promo, but then after buying it I was told they couldn't do partial refunds and could only refund the whole amount.

    I just checked and it is pending in my account as of today. The rep told me 7-10 business days but I can see it pending now.

    @bncanty thank you - just to clarify you got a partial refund or refund for whole game? I was told not possible and only whole game could be refunded so just want to be sure. I'm in queue again.

    I got refunded 20% of what I paid, which was full price for the game. So a partial refund is possible. Keep fighting! Lol

    I find it insane that no one from EA is coming back yet to comment on this situation.  It’s been a few days and loads of people are clearly having issues.  What the heck is the issue???  It should be clear as day to either honor the darn thing or come out ASAP and state it was a screw up on someone’s part.

    I considered buying it even for the measly 20% discount, but no way in heck will I bother if I have to fight tooth and nail for a discount THEY sent to customers via email.

    As the original poster, yeah I am really disappointed by the chat support and the support in this Discussion.  I am glad I didn't purchase as mine doesn't even give a percentage.  At this point I think I will continue holding off purchasing any of the new stuff even if I want the new items for my game.

    @Wyattsmama2008 At this rate, even at 50% off it's gonna be a hard sale for me, lol. I got the email as well, thought it was spam until I tried adding Lovestruck to my cart to check it, and then when I went back in later, it was gone. So I removed Lovestruck from my cart. Not sure when I'll even add it back in, lol.
