@MissyHissy from what I've seen on YT it looks like some of the content creators are doing it as their full time job. Heck the Kardashian's charge tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars to promote someone/thing on their social media. So, when folks get a certain number of subscribers that start to find ways to monetize their channels/platforms.
Is it right or wrong, dunno, but Content Creator/Social Media Maven is a bonafide career path these days
