Does anybody know if this needs to be played with the same household? I do rotational play and switch households after a Sim week, and I wouldn't want to break that pattern. I mean, sure, I could switch to the household that's doing the Grim quests for completing the current one, but I wouldn't be too happy about that 'cause I like to spend the whole allotted Sim week with the household I'm currently playing.
I am in a similar situation. My supersim is pregnant. This story is going on for years and the baby should be a special moment. I have been working towards it for a long time and was hoping to put the new kit to a use for this baby. I don't want it to be overshadowed by this event with Death standing next to the crib.
Should I play a new save for this event? Even with aging off rotating away to a new household will result in a birth off screen. What are the effect of playing off line ? Will that allow me to enjoy this households story without this event taking over? Yet at the same time I want to unlock some objects with a family I don't care about just in case the event messes up their story.

I have similar concerns, and I'm already trying to figure out which one of my households might be comfortable with Grim showing up on their doorstep all of a sudden. Probably my main household; two of them are spellcasters and have seen Grim in action, too, so they might be up for the challenge. Also, it probably makes sense for spellcasters to learn about Ambrosia, too.
However, I've been playing with them exclusively for almost a year before I started creating new households, so their story is pretty much fleshed out at this point while I have no idea where the others might be going. Still, in case the event dominates the story, it might mess too much with whatever ideas I might have for those other households... or it might give me fun ideas of what to do with them. It's really tricky at this point.
I think I'll play it safe, do the quests with Grim with my main household, and once I've claimed the corresponding reward, switch to another household, then go back to my main household once the next quest is up and so on.
