I'd say play more than one household, but make sure they live different lives, so you get variation. I love seeing my not played sims that I know very well, as background characters. It makes the hood/world feel more full fleshed :) It also makes it more interesting to form interesting stories/conflicts/achievements.

Go to Sylvan Glade!

Play your way, Cliche I know, But don't feel obligated to Fulfill Max Skills, Aspirations, Careers, Event Goals, if you want your story to play out a certain way and reaching a subgoal is actually your Character's Goal then do that.

It took me a while to learn that myself, and now that I live by this, the game is more fun to me.

Not Get Together...Outdoor Retreat introduces the interaction to gaze at the stars/sky.

Get Together also gives us the Club System. An awesome tool to gain friends and even love interests quickly.

Visit every community lot and don't leave until you've explored and did everything on that lot. That was one of the first things I did when I first started playing the Sims.

OMG i've been Simming since Sims 1 came out and I've learnt so much from this and a lot of things i haven't even done yet
