- GalacticGal8 years agoLegendI add my own builds to a town, but only recently have I ventured into making wholesale changes. Removing venues/houses and replacing them with something else. But then after all the work I put in, I ended up losing that save! Sometimes, when I don't really have enough time to play, but have the urge to power up the game, I'll spend that time redoing. I'm trying to make Templates that I can come back to if I lose the game I'm playing (or something too untoward occurs that I must intervene and restart, from scratch! to fix). LOL Or, if I'm just stalling until a new pack comes out. Like now. I fixed the gross error that occurred, and have only played a little of the rotation save. I really do believe I'm experiencing P.E.P.S or (pre-Expansion pack syndrome.)
- I was quite in the process of doing so until the gallery went down :)

I get a bit bored with the originals so I like remodeling all the towns. I usually make backups of my saves in case something goes wrong with them. But I also make backups of my gallery trays. I tend to make seperate gallery trays for each town so that my gallery doesnt get to full. Like a Oasis Tray for my favorite Oasis lots and so on for each town so if my save messes up I can just replop the lots on a new save.- I always download new community lots from the gallery - sometimes I download or build houses and sometimes I don't.
- I do it on the fly. When I need a specific venue I built it or or download one. But not earlier.
The only exception is Granite Falls which I usually make over in one go. I like to take screenshots there, so before I send my sims everything has to look good. - I've already done a 100% overhaul, am about 75% through my remodel. I'm beginning a new one though. I just can't stop myself from wanting to build build build.
- Loanet8 years agoSeasoned AceI leave most houses alone but I redo other things like making a better gym now that we've got more to use, or better bars or the lots in Granite Falls. And I did improve the Von Haunt place. And I have a resturaunt I don't own yet but I want it to be beautiful anyway.
- All the builds in my "starting save" are replaced with gallery ones. I like the creativity and the details player made houses have.
- I play a lot of different saves and I usually only replace one or two lots depending on what sort of story I'm working with. I have a group of teens in Oasis Springs (who are waiting to go to university) so downtown has completely changed (bowling alley, outdoor movie theater). Also in many saves I went to the Spice District in San Myshuno and replaced the karaoke bar and Old Salt House with outdoor restaurants and parks.

I have a starter save, which is laid out how I want with all the builds in it that I like. I start any new games from that save.
