No. My sister has been lactose and tolerant her entire life. She's excited to play this and so am I. We are always asking for more individuality. More challenge. More struggle. And when they try to give it to us we beg for it to be nerfed. Like no. Stop.
Now I do agree we need more trait slots. I'm using a mod by the pancake1 free on patreon for more trait slots. And there is another modder, Vicky I think he's called, who offers even more trait slots but I didn't need that many.
We should have this official. And it is odd for this to be a "trait" but I still love the idea of added challenge. No more nerfing some of my favorite features were nerfed and I'm still sour about it?♀️?♀️?♀️
This. I‘m so tired of people asking everything that isn‘t bubblegum pop to be removed from the game. No wonder the game plums with a community like this. Can‘t have vampire break ins, can‘t have alien pregnancies, can‘t have murphy bed deaths, can‘t have bowing at a shrine, can‘t have lactose intolerance,…
Edit: I have 26182 allergies myself. I definitely wouldn‘t cry like a baby if they added cat allergy to the game.
I disagree. As someone who has allergies as well as disabilities, I would like my sims to NOT suffer from the allergies I have, as well as allergies I don’t have. It would make my sims game awful. I choose to play “The Sims 4” as an escape to my problems, with the sims as my puppets and I get to choose how to play with my sims. I don’t play the game to be too realistic to the point it’s NOT enjoyable. I don’t want my sims to die from food allergies. That would ruin the fun of the game to me.
No one is forcing you to use the trait. There is a huge problem in the community where people think just because they don‘t like something it has to be removed from the game. How far are we going to take this? I can already picture a Sims 5 without deaths, ghosts, runaway pets and bills because it triggers some people.
People upset over sims getting and having allergies due to real life experiences is NOT unreasonable. If anything, it’s being caring about their sims and NOT being heartless when it comes to their sims. Death, ghosts and bills are important because this is a life simulator game, BUT asking for sims to have allergies and severe allergic reactions where sims can die is controversial, and NOT in a good way. It’s killing off your sim in a gruesome way and a struggle that is NOT fun.
The bowing at the shrine was a controversy due to real life issues, so that had to be removed so the game remains non offensive. I hope Maxis/EA does the right thing by removing the lactose intolerant trait.
Yes, it is unreasonable. Lactose intolerance is not an allergy, and sims aren't dying from it -- they're farting from it. If you find it problematic, there is a simple solution: don't use it. I certainly won't. I raised boys; I've had enough farting to last a lifetime.
Food allergies can be fatal. So if instead of death-by-chicken and death-by-bunny they had death-by-milk, you may have an argument. But there's no death by milk nor death by allergies. The deaths are silly because Sims are silly.
