Removing a family/household help

Not sure where this belongs, so forgive me if this is in the wrong spot. I started a new save, but want to remove a household as I don't want this particular family in this slot for story purposes. I bulldozed their house and terrain, but it's still showing they're living on that lot. I guess they're homeless? How do I get them out of this game slot? By removing them in this slot, will it harm their regular slot where they have their own story going on? I don't want to lose them :( I'm also having issues with stuff I'm saving. I know it's something I am overlooking. I'm new to building homes and made a few cool ones as practice on empty lots. I saved them to my library, but when I go there to bring them back to the world on a lot I chose for them, I can't find them in my library. Again, I'm new to the building thing so I'm sure I'm not seeing something. If anyone can help me with these issues I'll really appreciate it!

  • Did you evict them? Or, you could move them. Just click on the lot, select the tools for build mode, and select the ellipses dots (…) From there you can evict or move them. If you evict them, I think they're gone for good. If you wish to have them in your game save, then I would suggest you simply move them.

As for your 'missing' builds, check out the news page, I think it is. You should find new adds be it lots or Sims on screen right. I know, I had this fear when I upgraded my lot and wanted to save it. It wasn't in my library until the next time I powered up my game. I did find them on one of the other pages. It may be under News, or Home, or whatever it's called. Not the Gallery page, itself.
  • Couple of things... to remove a household from your current game, go to Manage Worlds, then click the Manage Households icon in the top right of the window. Select 'Other Households' tab and then hover over the household you want to remove. Click the red 'x' top right corner.

Regarding saved lots in your library, check the 'Include Custom Content' in the left hand list in case you've saved with any CC.

I don't want them totally gone from the entire game, just that particular save. Will that work or once I kick them out of that slot they'll be 100% everywhere? I didn't evict them first. I only tore down the house thinking if that was gone they'd be gone too.

Found the house by doing what you said about the custom content! One mystery solved yay! Thank you!
  • Ah ok I figured it all out thanks to all your help everyone!! The family is officially off that slot and living the high life in their own world. The house is found also! However, it's proving to be a bit of a pickle as I built it on a huge lot as a temporary thing and now I can't place the house somewhere else unless it's on the same size lot. Ugh....this is probably why I never got involved in building anything haha. Thanks again for all your help and suggestions and teaching me some new things! Y'all rock!!!

Eviction means they become homeless Sims but still in your save.
You can delete them from your save without losing them by going into Household Management, saving them to your Library, then deleting them. They'll be in your Library to place in a save in the future.
  • @TravisBlackfox there is a solution to a small build on a large lot. A position I have been in more than once. You can't place from the map but pick the smaller lot you want, click on it and select build. Then you can place a larger lot on the smaller lot from the gallery. You will be given warnings but chose the options that let you continue. It will place things awkwardly. Click move whole lot and the items on the lot you are trying to place will show as green or yellow. Green is what fits on the lot and yellow doesn't so will be deleted. Rotate and move until you are happy and click the tick for yes place here.if it's not quite right you can go into move again. Then resave so you have a copy on the smaller lot in your gallery.
