Removing Former Vampire Trait?

Remember how when a Sim is cured of Vampirism they randomly have moodlets reminding them of their past? I've seen them namely related to sleeping and it is a neat little thing in most contexts. However, I forgot how to remove this hidden trait. I was pretty sure it was possible, but perhaps tiresome.

The issue is that I have five regular Sims, two of which I do not have a single human version of in my library because they started as vampires. Even then, I would much rather use all their vampire versions because I would have to update a lot on the human versions for my plan. I ideally want to have a version of them for every occult type, including the werewolves that release today. Currently I have vampires and mermaids (though the mermaids have the hidden trait, so I still need to fix that). Anyway, this annoyance I remember being a bee in my bonnet about making them castors (although I gave up because of the broken progression), so I was hoping to preempt that with werewolves.

Does anyone remember how to do this? Cheats are A-okay.

  • I could never get the cheat to remove old vampire traits work. I had to make them vampires again, get them to drink the drink that removes traits then devamp them again!

Okay, if the cheat is broken, that explains a lot. I probably failed with the mermaids, which is why it is a persistent issue.

Let me ask, by the drink that removes traits, what do you mean? I don't think I have ever used it. Does it remove every single trait?
  • Also, I did find a cheat. The typical one is:

    Traits.remove_trait OccultVampire_Cured

However, I also saw a stronger version including the SimID at the end. Do you happen to remember which one you did, @dogzdinner?
  • The Ultimate Vampire Cure will rest all Vampire Traits to Default.

I am afraid it left the hidden cured trait when I made my mermaids, which I am sure is what is intended. They aren't vampires. They just have moodlet triggers from the cured trait making it seem like they have memories of vampirism.
  • This is the same issue I had. I turned a vampire into a mermaid but they had a hidden trait that made them sick if they ate food. Poor thing was sick all the time. I dont think the cheat worked because I had changed their state so it didnt register.
I had to turn them back into a vampire, max their vampire lore so they could make the Draught of Reconfiguration with lvl 1 mixology which reset all their traits...then turn them back into a mermaid! After that the traits were all cleared.

Including the hidden cured trait from the Ultimate Vampire Cure?
  • @Calico45 I know MCCC has an option to remove traits. If you use MCCC I think it's under one of the "cheat sims info" options but not sure.

I don't typically use mods with the Sims, so I was hoping to avoid it. However, if it comes down to it I will have to. Thank you for giving me an option.
