@Triplis lol Lydia. Her favorite thing to say to me. Definitely funny at first, but annoying the fifth time you hear it in two hours. I was playing the other day and just sent her home because of this line and the fact that she kept standing in doorways, even though I like to have someone to carry more stuff to sell later.
The water struggle is real. I remember that annoying me back in TS2, but it's much more persistent now. I get it, you went for a jog or watered the garden for two hours. But it's a hassle that this "invisible need" is there at all (that's a perfect way to describe it, thank you) because I don't want to spend forever watching sims drink water (or tea, or coffee, or juice) and then leave their glasses everywhere. And goodness forbid you have tall half walls, because you'll never see the dishes they leave up there and you'll question why your sims are so upset all the time in a clean environment.
The whims I find annoying as well, as someone else mentioned. Why are they so easy to dismiss if all I'm going to end up doing is clicking the same five away, trying to land on something with impact (like having a baby or quitting a job)? I also dislike the repetitive whims and queue actions that have to do with pools (any pools), but particularly if a pool was used decoratively and it's not for swimming, or even accessible for swimming. The constant need to listen to music if there's a radio and then it's frequently broken because it's on all the time. Always using phones. Always using the computer especially if it isn't yours to begin with. I'm so sick of guests obsessively using it, I've started locking it in an office. Children and toddlers not going to bed after nightmares. I know the nightlight prevents all or most of them depending on the traits and such, but I don't want to deal with it at all if it's going to wake up other sims in the process, and then no one is asleep. It doesn't change the fact that without that item, nightmares occurred far too often in my households. I mean, days in a row. It was literally a nightmare. (pun intended!)
And this isn't to say I hate the game, I'll never play again, etc. I'm not new to these; there were repetitive interactions in each game that I didn't love. I enjoy the games, despite my annoyances about what I've listed and qualms about their marketing and pricing. But the "cute" things stop being cute pretty quickly, and I definitely feel like some of these should be fixed by now. I could also go on about personalities/traits/emotions but others have mentioned them, so I'll leave my little tirade here. ;)
