Yeah, I've decided to use the mod SCAM to modify sims autonomy, they are beyond annoying.
Little Ms Sam's Personal Objects mod has absolutely become a game-changer for me.
if basically lets your sims claim computers, tablets, easels, instruments, and pet bowls. You can also grant permission to specific sims to use it as well. It's absolutely fantastic.
I agree too, I love this mod! So much better than trying to put computers behind locked doors.
