RoM - Design Choices

I just got RoM and normally I don't dive into the new stuff right away I usually wait for my story to take me there and I dunno I always have a soft spot for magic so I went for it!

Anyways I am kind of disappointed with the magic system. First the good!

Good
The perks are great and well designed and I like that whole pick and choose what I want aspect.

Good
Magic and Alchemy aren't skills so your Sims can't accidently learn them by doing something related to them. I danced at a DJ stand ... Now I'm a DJ!

Good:
Spell selection and variety.

Good:
CAS and Build/ Buy Mode. Not a whole lot but what is there is pretty nice.

Good:
Familiars (yay pets!)

Bad:
How spells work - the prime example I can think of that I don't like is Delicioso. You have to cast on the floor. You can't just cast the spell on yourself and conjure it like a grilled cheese. You can't use the spell on a counter or table. It's just so odd. I hope it could be changed at some point.

Bad:
Spell effects. If they get better I don't know but they just don't pop. They lack pizazz. It's kind of lackluster which feels disappointing.

Bad:
Magic Realm: It seems to be a trend of the latest Packs but there seems to be a greater focus on looks over usability. The magic school has so much wasted space and it looks so bare bones. Also what is with the greenhouse in the garden?

All in all I really do like the pack. I'm enjoying it so far and watching my little spell caster specialize in just practical magic. It's nice I can specialize how I want or pick and choose or just be all powerful :P.

Just hoping for some updates and tweaks over the next couple months 😋
