Roomba? (Cats & Dogs)

Question

What exactly does the robot vacuum do? Whenever I turn it on to clean up puddles and other mess it just skates over them while navigating outside at every opportunity. Is it supposed to clean? Is there something wrong with mine?

Have you updated both the roomba and the base of it fully and seperately, I think it needs an update before it does puddles and at first just starts with kids paint or something

Maybe its full? Usually for me it cleans without problem until it gets filled or perhaps it needs an upgrade for certain messes?

I just used the really fancy one but didnt know both the base and the vacuum had to be updated. I'll try and update :)
