Don't always want to play as my sims spouse and children. I moved my sim's wife in as a roommate, don't know if she will share the bed, or if roommates will be romantic. The kid is still young, so they are in household. When they are teen, to my knowledge they can become a roommate, too. Wasn't far into it yet. Can anybody tell what this was like for them. Aware wife will go out some times, have parties.

They will be romantic with one another if they have the romance bar up. I had one of my sims' boyfriend move in. He slept in the same bed with her and everything. They had a kid and he'd even help with childcare autonomously. He'd leave for work and come back home at the same time everyday (he was one of the sages of magic). It was kind of weird having him in the same house but not actively playing him. I will say though, ever so often, he'd call and ask her out on a date when the were already watching a movie together on the same couch...He also brought random friends over too

Also...if you have Jungle Adventure...you can ask the temple skeleton to be your roommate. They will move in....and remain in their skeleton form! That was a really fun gameplay let me tell you...

I love using the roommates system for that, my sims have had their partners as roommates many times and it works well. They just sleep in the same bed and do their own thing.

I love doing this too. I usually like to only play one adult sim at a time. Before the roommate system I would often have spouses live in different houses and just give them a key. But this works much better.

Sometimes I upgrade their beds, plumbing, etc. to help with this.They also move out when aging up. I don't know why, but they'll say it's time to move on, or something like that. I discovered this the hard way when I was building a nursing home full of 'roommates' and I wanted them all elders. So I aged them up. They'd move out immediately every time. However, if your sim has a high enough debate skill, they can beg the roommate to stay.

Update: It worked. The only problem is that the BF won't sleep with his GF even though their romance and friendship bars are at max. He naps in the bathtub.

It worked for me. Just had to assign left and right side of the beds for both Sims. :)

@orenjiAi suggested to assign beds. If this didn't work, try just assigning it for room mate. Your sim can sleep any where, so it doesn't matter if it is assigned for them. BF may be registering it as your sim's bed.

I tried and was only able to assign one side of the bed. I'll see if something's blocking the other side.

I'd rather make my Bonehilda my sim's roomate than just an ordinary Skeleton. She's so cool. B)
