It's even worse if you go to a new family during the night, because none of them will be in bed, but each of them will probably be busy preparing various food. Grilling in the garden is quite normal in my worlds, at 3AM. There's a food hysteria at night, and all other needs are in the green, also energy. I wish they were in bed with a low energy, when I stop by at night...
Other than that - I agree that the calendar is affecting how I play, and that in a positive way. I love this feeling of time and year. I play with ageing off, but turn it on for one night only, normally the night between Winter and Spring.
