I have a single sim with the hot-headed trait and he gets angry somewhat regularly. At least twice, he's come home angry from work because of some simple little thing (they don't really say what, just that even the smallest things can set them off). I've got a family of 3 (parents and a child) and if the parent scolds their child, he might make an irritated noise but after that he'll immediately turn around and start chatting happily with his parent. I don't remember ever moving on that quickly with my parents when I got scolded or something. In fact, in TS3, when a kid got scolded, they would get that bag-over-the-head humiliated (I think?) moodlet for a period of time. I'm kind of surprised that scolding or getting in trouble doesn't give them a similar mood in this game.
I agree that it seems like the happier moods show up easily. I was actually hoping that the sad buff would magnify negative emotions the way the happy buff does. They definitely need to tweak the emotions more and beef up the negative ones a bit and add a couple more emotions--jealously, fear, love.
