Sad I see quite often. If my Family-Oriented sim spends an extended amount of time away from his family (hours and hours gardening or fishing, or everyone's at work/school and he's home alone), he tends to get sad until he sees one of them again. Angry, Bored, Embarrassed, and Sad have all been brought on my chance cards from my sims' experiences at work or school, as well. When they come home, they'll have a moodlet with however the day went. Sometimes it brings on Focused, Inspired, Energetic, etc, other times it's the negative emotions.
