Do not be fooled. "Too hard, too expensive"is just professional terms for too lazy. They have the money (and if not, put in some volunteer work!)and you should be able to make new beards and some sitting animations. I mean it's what you went to school for. Don't make excuses to not do what your fans want. Abandon this vision of yours and listen to us because we are the ones who make you money.
I'm not hating on the developers but seriously this is some basic ass stuff that you should be able to do.
I'm very confused on why they keep saying stuff like this. I don't want the entire sims 4 lifespan to be a constant downer because of laziness.
I think part of the team prob doesn't really love what they do for reals/don't like playing sims, if they did like modders and CC makers that do it for free, they would want to make the best game ever! Either that or management and budget make the motivation of the team low. I know a company similar to Maxis and some people that work there and that makes other type of IT product though and the people are burnt out last months and the morale is so low even when they work 12 hours a day and can't take holidays they don't produce well, they just keep rolling with a clunked system that was devised poorly by the top management and by bad programmers. They need more workers and experts in coding, but the management vision and the low morale stops things being inspired and working out. I see many similarities.
You're right. When people do something for free they want to do it and when you want to do something you do it right and as best as you can (modders, ccmakers). If you do it because it's your jobs well.. you probably just doing the average joe.
