Hey y'all,
Cheat engine does work for this. It's a convoluted and somewhat tedious method, but it does work.

The forum was for money, but the method works for satisfaction points. It assumes you have the very basic understanding about how cheat engine works (e.g. how to find values, but you don't need any more knowledge beyond that...I sure don't).
I've tested it a little and just a few pointers if it helps.
1) You can do it for multiple sims in a household. You'll just have to go back and forth between save files to identify the address for each sim.
2) I tried to change the value while playing as the family rather than the neighborhood view, didn't work. Plus you have to switch save files and you can only do that from the main menu anyways.
3) I did not get 1 or 2 values on the first pass. I had to go edit the values at least one more time to find the right address for a particular sim.
4) Those addresses that you find are valid for the current instance of the game (thus if you exit TS4 before you save the values it won't be permanent and you have to find the values again) I'm sure there's some way to fix this (again not an expert with cheat engine, probably something to do with pointers...)
5) The address you identify is specific to the Sim from what i can tell. So i don't think you need to go through the "click on the house, but don't play" step. Once you're in neighborhood view, it should be good enough. Just remember to save after you've made the change or your work won't be permanent
