Scenarios and Story lines

@fujicakes1 I don't do long storylines/saves/legacies either though I can play a sim for a few months. I'm just not that creative when it comes to thinking up stories, etc lol. As for scenarios I don't usually do them but I have two going right now (separate saves), one I'm 80,000 simoleons away from completing & the other I have a long way to go before it's done. They're an interesting break from the usual ?.

It's ok to not be a storyteller or do scenarios, everyone plays differently. Some mostly do building while others enjoy creating sims or storytelliing. There's no one or right way to play, so just be you & enjoy!

I can’t do legacies because I get bored with the same family, and I like having my sims know other sims I created to play. So, I mostly play rotationally.

But I do have one really long rotational save. I like rotational saves because I can change around to any other household I want when I get bored. I keep aging off most of the time. Some households get played longer than others, and more often. I often change households when a new pack comes out. When High school years came out I was playing a family with a teen. Since growing together is out I have been playing families with toddlers or newborns, getting ready to age newborns up to infants. and I have spent a long time doing likes and dislikes on my rotation, that’s a long process.

I also have a rotational scenario save that I also keep aging turned off most of the time. I often get off track doing other things than just completing the scenario. It’s a little more difficult since most household have something needed to complete, I have only got the frog one complete so far, and I had fun playing it cause he was off the grid. But like with the other rotational saves I can switch households when I want to, and with aging off can take my time. I get attached to my sims.

My stories are ever changing, like I said, often with each new pack. Sometimes I will create a new special family with a new pack, but I have too many sims in my main rotational save already., lol.

I keep aging off as well, as well as several other things in the game disabled - I like having some semblance of control when irl I have zero. :D Why have aging and drama in a video game when there are enough troubles in real life. Video games are fantasy, an escape from the real world. I mean I have an amazing life, a loving partner and kind friends, an actual social life, and a great family. I have a wonderful and large support system in that way. I have a comfortable big house and the bills get paid. I have a ton to be thankful for. But I do have a lot of medical problems that are seriously the worst. So an escape is nice. ...I kind of got off track lol. Yes...I also keep aging disabled :#

No you're not the only one. @NRowe is also a serial restarter. ? And I'm sure there are others. As long as you're having fun I wouldn't worry about it.

I've been playing the same save/family for almost 5 years. One reason is because I'm trying to complete all goals with that one family and the second reason is I've become so attached to them that I couldn't imagine playing another family.

As for scenarios there are a couple of ongoing scenarios that you might want to join in on. It's fun when several simmers are playing the same scenario and you get to see different approaches to completing it.

I'll check those out sometime soon! Thanks! I'm glad to know that there are other serial restarters out there lol. I do that with a lot of video games. I can't tell you how many New Leaf towns I have had and how many New Horizons islands I have had. Like....I don't even know, seriously probably fifty islands min, and I would guess twenty-ish towns at this point.

I feel your pain! I too have a hard time focusing on one family for a long period of time. My go to when I'm bored with this game is to make my sims do something I haven't done in a while, like go to Sulani or complete the Strangerville storyline. I also play rotationally until I have made too many decisions that have changed my gameplay enough that I need to start over. I have a really cool save file with Johnny Zest having married Candy Behr and is a successful comedian and he's even formed a solid friendship with his sister in law and has a pretty cool life with lots of friends and his own club entourage whenever he performs.

Another thing that keeps me engaged is reading about other people's experiences. I never had a painting goblin before too long ago when I read a post about it.

There is no "wrong" way to play Sims! We get to do whatever we want. We don't even need to know why we do things, never mind justify it.

Sometimes I start over several time in one day. I am still learning how to play the game. One small change or discovery gives me new ideas that I want to explore.

I'm exactly like this, constantly starting and stopping. I love the idea of long-term saves but can't seem to see them through. I do have some older saves since I reinstalled the game a couple of years ago, and I return to one in particularly every few months, and may at some point return to others, but most of the time my saves are short-loved.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one! I know it doesn't matter, but it did make me feel a little bit intimidated seeing all of the ongoing stories and stuff. I wondered what was wrong with me lol.
