My sim is a detective and civilians don’t walk up to the front desk, she also had a baby recently and she couldn’t check in because of the same issue.
Just wanted to add that the receptionist in the Doctor career I'm currently playing won't go to the desk anymore either. She did the first day, then my sim stopped and chatted with her the second day.. out front. Now she won't go near the desk. They don't seem to do anything so it's not affecting my playthrough.
I'm just using the hospital that comes in game... so if you still have issues @aaronrulz it might not be the build.
