Not so much as I don't see electronics as being outside? Only been able to do so since it's always eternal spring/summer in the game til seasons came without any worry. Only thing I can see is having a type of awning built over a certain part of your backyard or one of the overhanging shade umbrellas.
Or just have your electronics outside upgraded to unbreakable so they're basically waterproof. I ironically tried to fix the tv at geek con due to rain while my sim was in the rain. PROBABLY not the smartest thing to do. Protip: It didn't work. :neutral: Spoiler alert: She got electrocuted wamp wamp wammmmmp.
Though as far as lightning strikes I'd like to see a lightning rod patched in to help prevent some of that. Haven't had too many problems with it my Sims tend to seek shelter when the weather gets so bad. Less there's this super attractive item outside they just GOTTA interact with.
