Exactly .- It looked truly beautiful in the livestream, to me anyway!

It would not have mattered much for some if there was no previous versions that foot prints and supposely other little stuff did not exist. It did and what you may consider small some think it means a lot. So much was cut from this version of Sims 4 and no telling what else will be cut or not show up. Luckily for me I am not paying full price for this pack, I am getting it dirt cheap. Luckily EA/Maxis will make money off this pack but if most wait for an price drop EA/Maxis would have to change their income forecast. As said in my previous posts there may be more shortcomings to come. "rudy8292;c-16544786" wrote:

Well, also we're getting recolours of the items in the game as a new objects ...
It's really annoying
Do you mean the windows? Because 5 of them look identical (or almost) to the ones we got with Cats and Dogs. Or are there more?
I only saw small thumbnails, but the curtains look like recolors, definitely the windows and maybe the window seat (can't tell yet if it's just a recolor or actually looks different) look like they're from Cats & Dogs. And for some reason the catalogue from the livestream had the Seasons icon on items that were definitely in the Spooky Stuff SP, like the spiderwebs, two different pumpkin lamps and graveyard lanterns.
These are only the things I actually remember noticing. I bet someone else could find more because it's become really typical.
Do you mean these cutains?

I mean I'm assuming you do, because I don't see any other one in the catalog, and I don't recall curtains like that to be in any pack. The window seat is different too. Yeah, it'll look similiar because of its shape, but I don't mind having a bit more of them. It's understanable for me that they give more option for unique bulding style they introduced. I like to use that kind of bay windows a lot, but putting the same seats all the time can get old eventually.
I also thought the windows look pretty similar to C&D, but they seem to have more built up frames, if that makes any sense.
As for the Spooky Stuff, yes, they used 4 decorative objects to complete new Halloween content coming with Seasons. They admitted that during the livestream. I don't really mind it since it's probably not even 1% of the pack.
Oh, thanks for the picture! The curtains certainly look different. That's good :) I only saw them in the buy mode as small thumbnails before.
I compared the windows again and noticed the new Seasons windows have some kind of tiny bar at the bottom. Still way too identical to me (it's not like only a handful of window designs exist in this world), but I guess we'll have to wait until Friday to judge properly.
Well, personally I feel really bad about the Spooky Stuff items. You pay 10 bucks to get some Halloween stuff in your game and now they just copy at least four of the items just into the new pack. I find that awful. But talking more about that here would be off-topic, I guess.
I feel the same about those Spooky Stuff objects. Why not create 4 new Halloween looking objects and leave the other ones where they belong?
Back on topic. Judging for what we saw on the livestream, it doesn't seem like they paid too much attention to the ground in general. To all the immersion breaking snow related things, I'll add the same for rain. There's no effect on the ground when it's raining, is like the rain doesn't really touch the floor, puddles just mysteriously appear and then they stay static.
It is super immersion breaking for me, i would be enjoying parts of the livestream and be total thrown off by how bad the effects look on the ground.
Do you think the rain might be a filter like, i think @jackjack_k said.
Sorry if you didn't say it XD
Yes, it really is disappointing.
I think it is some sort of filter yes, the rain doesn't even look like rain but like a computer generated stripey kind of filter, stripes that go from the top to the bottom of your screen and that's it. But the thing is that, I know for a fact they can do the effect of rain falling because they showed it on the lake/river. So why not the rest? Why no rain touching the ground? Or the ceilings? Or the puddles?
That is really disappointing. For me a big part of a seasons pack is the feel of weather, I mean i won't lie and say I'm particularly impressed with a lot of the other things in the pack but to me the atmosphere the weather creates is a big part of it.
Do you know the time stamp on the livestream where the rain is shows? I skipped through it and I think i completely missed the rain part.
The stream showed how rain and snow impact the unchangeable parts of the world like the streets and the river which makes sense in a power saving way. Those vistas always stay the same and don't get complex like having 4-5 plots with elaborate builds, detailed gardens and various water features like in my saves. Imagine dripping roofs, spashing pools, puddles, soaked and dripping trees - yeah, would be nice but I also know what my engine would do: die.
The puddles on the street don't get rain either as far as I can remember. @06Bon06 I will look for it as soon as I get home (in like an hour).
Edit: sorry had no time, life got on the way. Tomorrow I'll get screenshots and all that jazz.
It's true. Puddles are just static spawn things in the streets. They don't have any rain drops effect on them. Same goes for the kiddie pool and I also assume for the normal pools.
Really immersion breaking, since they did do it for rivers in the neighborhoods.. I hope they can fix it.
Personally this is the only real issue I have now with the EP. The overall weather effects look very nice, but this just feels weird.

For the kiddie pool surface:
1 hour and 58 mins.
For the rain puddles effect:
2 hours and 22 minutes (24 seconds) approx.
I really hope they can fix this, because they claim to make the best weather effects EP yet, but they totally forgot about adding stuff like this. Not too much to ask to fix this for a 40 dollar product if you ask me.
@SimGuruGeorge @SimGuruEmory @SimGuruGrant @SimGuruRad (and to all the other Guru's who have worked on the EP).
That looks so weird. They add a splash for when they are walking and neglect everything else.- I am beyond excited for this pack, but the only little thing that's bugging me is the bright pink trees in Willow Creek during autumn. I noticed it in the official livestream and other streams on YouTube as well. They look really out of place with the rest of the trees showing autumn colors.

people making excuses for the devs huh? how it was possible with previous iterations with aged 32 bit engines is beyond me. - > @SarahsShady said:

i remember where that was from- YES, remember when CAW was launch back in sims 3 and people just uploaded a world with white terrain and pretended the world as a winter wonderland as proxy while waiting for a seasons expansion? smh "rudy8292;c-16544786" wrote:

I noticed something was off with the rain but didn't really have time to figure out what it was during the livestream. This looks really really bad.
From afar it looks like a thunderstorm but them you zoom in and... nothing's happening. The ground is as still as during a nice sunny day.
I really hope they can fix it. The toddler pool doesn't look as bad because it's small but the puddles on the ground look really off.
Hopefully they didn't go as far as letting real swimming pools completely still during thunderstorms.
