seasons outfits

Does anyone feel they work hard on getting your sims into 5 perfect everyday outfits that they can randomize but they are always switching to either their hot and cold clothes from Seasons? It's beginning to annoy me. At this point, I don't care if my sim is outside in her mini skirt in the snow. I rather see the everyday outfits more than the winter and summer outfits. Sims look dumb hanging in the house with their ski parka on because they don't change their clothes when they come in from the outside. This bothers me more with cold clothes than hot clothes because at least hot clothes can look normal as everyday wear. Advice? Thoughts?

The clothing articles themselves don’t necessarily matter; it’s really just an aesthetic. As long as you select the clothing for the Hot/Cold weather category, it’ll be considered appropriate to wear for a given weather type.

If you select a sweater for Hot Weather wear or a bikini for Cold Weather wear, your Sim will not overheat or freeze even if it’s scorching or freezing, respectively.
  • I keep weather effects turned off, and my Sims still sometimes change into cold or hot weather outfits.

yes, same. But it's once in awhile, not as much when temperature is turned on. It's funny how I need to turn off stuff for better gameplay. I have shut off seasons, celebrity, and eco lifestyle. lol
  • Is there a way to eliminate the hot/cold outfit rule? For example: There are clothes that are not tagged as cold that I want to use but i don't want my sims to freeze to death in gameplay.

    Edit: Wording

If you deselect the filter for hot/cold, you’ll be able to choose any piece of clothing in CAS, and it can be applied to hot/cold weather wear. CAS automatically filters predetermined hot/cold items, but you can easily turn off the filter. As long as you build the outfit specifically in the hot/cold tab in CAS, you can have anything be considered appropriate for that weather and your Sim will be fine.

  • I bought the game last week. I have 106 hours and I purchased all of the the expacs and game packs, as well as a few of the stuff packs, in just the last week. Haha. 106 hours isn't much, but I know that I will play a crap ton more of it going forward. I've spent the last week download TOO MUCH CC lol.
  • I shut off weather hot/cold effects. They will still switch to the 'appropriate' clothes slot unless you select what to wear for them. I still kinda role-play it though. Switch them to an outfit I think is fair compared to the weather. Or switch them to whatever, like everyday, for when they are indoors. Or switch them from sports to everyday when they are done exercising, etc...

Ohhh okay thanks! For whatever I reason I thought if you didn't have whatever clothes were tagged as hot/cold it would effect your sims in the weather. Like I actually thought if you put jeans on a sim in the hot weather category they would burn to death lol.

Nope, they'll be fine. Or as @Admiral8Q mentioned above, you can also turn off weather effects and then the clothes really won't matter.
